向上的束缚
向上的束缚 is a federally funded educational program and is one of the clusters of the TRiO 项目. 向上的束缚 provides fundamental support to participants in their preparation for college entrance. The program provides opportunities for participants to succeed in their pre-college performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits. 向上的束缚 serves: high school students from low-income families; and high school students from families in which neither parent holds a bachelor's degree. The goal of 向上的束缚 is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of post-secondary education.
To be considered for 向上的束缚, 一个学生 must meet the following criteria:
-
Enrolled in the ninth (9th),第十(10)th),第十一(11)th)或第十二(12)th) grade at either Brainerd High, 东岭高中, Red Bank High or Howard School of 学者 and Technology.
-
A potential first-generation college student--neither parent has completed a four-year, post-secondary college degree.
-
A member of a family whose income does not exceed the level established annually by the U.S. Department of Education.
-
Have a completed application, including one high school counselor recommendation and one teacher recommendation.
A prospective student may obtain an application from the guidance office at one of the schools listed above or from the UB office. 学生 are not accepted until they have turned in a completed application, a copy of their parents’ most recent income tax form or other proof of income documentation, a copy of their most recent report card/transcript, and any other documentation requested by 向上的束缚 工作人员. All applications will be reviewed by UB 工作人员 for accuracy and a formal invite will be extended if the criteria have been met.
